Executive Director of Corporate Services

Thank you for your interest in joining Essex County Council (ECC) as the Executive Director of Corporate Services.

We are driving forward an ambitious strategy to maximise opportunities and improve outcomes for our residents and service users, in the midst of significant local government reform and devolution plans and are proud to be in the top three most productive councils in the Country, delivering substantial savings for sustainability.

Performing a key role in the organisation, you will lead our Procurement, Digital, Legal and Assurance, Transformation, and Finance teams, and work closely with me and our other Executive Directors to shape corporate policies and plans ensuring effective management of our services across ECC.

This position is highly visible and demanding, requiring a leader with a strong professional reputation and the ability to manage large and complex support services.

You will need to be influential and resilient, working with stakeholders across ECC, both locally and nationally, including politicians and residents. A mature understanding of strategic partnerships is essential to your success.

As part of the Corporate Leadership Team (CLT), at the heart of the Council’s organisational strategy and change agenda you will be accountable for the success of our professional and support services. Your leadership will help develop a cohesive and effective service that embraces and drives change.
